Math/Science Teacher, Fall 2019
Hours: P/T (2-3 days 12-18 hrs) to start August 2019, with the option of F/T (4-5 days, 24-28 hrs) later in the year
Description: One Spark Academy is looking to add to our dynamic, professional, passionate teaching team with additional math/science options. We are seeking a like-minded educator who has experience teaching middle school-age children in math and at least one other science-related area; who has passion, skill, and creative planning ability in math and science; who appreciates the flexible scheduling that OSA has to offer. The ideal applicant would be available to observe in our classrooms prior to the end of this year, and/or be available for training/planning in mid-August.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree or higher in math or science-related field required. Single or multiple subject teaching credentials are a bonus, but not necessary if teaching experience in alternative education programs/schools is adequate. Applicant must be dependable. Applicants MUST be familiar with our philosophy and structure before submitting a resume and letter(s) of recommendation (related to education experience).
Other Details: One Spark Academy doesn’t operate in the summer. Ideal candidates will be interviewed prior to the end of our school year with decisions made by July 1. Please share your understanding of our learning center in any email communication if submitting a resume, as well as your skill set and other interesting subjects you can teach (such as cooking or fitness), and schedule limitations (days/times unavailable).
Rate: $25/hr minimum; higher rates are dependent upon experience/skill and our resources. Hours are paid for onsite time, including lunchtime and planning.
